Services

Our goal is to be an outstanding eye care provider for the entire family, guiding each one of our patients through their benefits while providing an excellent standard of service.

Our commitment is to strive for excellence in all aspects of our work. We pledge to make a positive impression with our actions each day.

Comprehensive Eye Exam for All Ages

Whether you are having unexplained vision issues or needing your yearly eye exam, we are happy to schedule you with one of our great doctors. Our comprehensive eye exams help us identify, diagnose and treat serious eye conditions in a timely manner. Getting a diagnosis and starting proper treatment early can make a difference for your overall quality of life.

At our office you will be provided with a selection of quality frames, lenses, and contact lens selections that are best suited for your needs.

During your comprehensive eye exam, we will look at:

  • Overall medical history
  • Visual acuity
  • Pupils
  • Peripheral vision
  • Eye movement
  • Eye alignment
  • Eye pressure
  • Prescription for glasses or contact lenses
  • The surface of the front of your eye
  • Retina
  • Optic nerve

Each component of your comprehensive eye exam can reveal crucial information about your ocular and overall health. Your eyes are the “window” to the rest of your body. In fact, the eyes are the only place in the entire body where blood vessels can be observed. We will make sure you are fully informed on important steps to take care of your vision.

Contact Lens Fitting

Our office is happy to provide contact lens fitting and training to our patients that are good candidates. We use trial lenses to help train on proper care and insertion/removal at your contact lens fitting appointment. Our doctors will assess the lens fit, comfort, prescription, and vision improvement. Sometimes it will take multiple pairs to find the perfect fit and our doctors will make sure you are happy with the end results.

In most cases we will ask you to come back in at least two weeks for a follow up visit to check the lens fit and overall vision. If you are satisfied with the lenses and there are no changes to be made, we will provide you with your contact lens prescription.

Emergency Eye Care

Our doctors can provide emergency services for urgent eye health matters. If you experience an eye emergency, please give us a call so that we can evaluate your condition.

Below are a few reasons why you may need to give us a call for emergency eye care:

  • Irritated or red eyes
  • Broken blood vessels
  • Eye burning
  • Eye allergies
  • Painful or puffy eyes
  • Viral or bacterial infections such as pink eye
  • Foreign objects or substances in the eye such as metal slivers, splinters, or chemicals
  • Flashes, floaters, or spots, which could indicate a retinal tear or detachment- We can then do an immediate referral for treatment.
  • Sudden vision loss (one or both eyes)

Lasik Co-Management

If you’ve been considering LASIK to reduce or eliminate your need for glasses or contact lenses, you might have come across the term LASIK co-management. So, what does it really mean, and how can it benefit you? At Lohmueller and Associates Optometry, we’re here to clarify the details. LASIK co-management is a collaborative care model designed to provide you with comprehensive, personalized attention both before and after your procedure.

What Is LASIK Co-Management?
LASIK co-management is a teamwork approach that involves your local optometrist and the LASIK surgeon. Instead of having every part of your care handled solely at the surgical center, your optometrist actively participates in your care journey before and after your surgery. We collaborate with trusted LASIK surgeons, offering pre-operative and post-operative care right here at our office. This setup makes the process more convenient and ensures you receive continuous care from a team you already know and trust.

Understanding the Co-Management Process
The initial step is evaluating whether you’re a suitable candidate for LASIK. During your first consultation at Lohmueller and Associates Optometry, we conduct a thorough eye exam and assess your vision needs and overall health to confirm that LASIK is a safe and effective choice for you.

If you qualify, we’ll refer you to a reputable local surgeon for the procedure. We work closely with these specialists and share your exam results and vision history to ensure everything flows smoothly.

Before your LASIK surgery, the team at the office you choose to go for your consulatation will prepare you by discussing what to expect after the procedure, addressing any questions you have, and providing all the information needed for a seamless experience.

Once your surgery is complete, we’ll take care of your follow-up appointments at Lohmueller and Associates Optometry. These visits are essential for monitoring your healing, checking your vision improvements, and ensuring there are no complications. Most patients have follow-up appointments scheduled at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months after surgery.

Why Co-Management Matters

  • Ongoing Support: You receive continuous care from an eye care provider who knows your vision and medical background.
  • Convenience: Most follow-up appointments are at our office, saving you the hassle of traveling to the surgery center.
  • Personalized Attention: Our team is dedicated to making sure you feel comfortable and informed at every stage.
  • Trusted Partnerships: We only refer to experienced LASIK surgeons with a track record of successful outcomes.
