Dr. Carol Lohmueller
Carol (Lecher) Lohmueller, OD is a native of Greensburg. In 1994 upon graduation from the Indiana University School of Optometry, she joined the practice of Drs. Childress, Weimer and Weigel. After 27 years of practice in Greensburg, she purchased the practice of John Wade, OD in October of 2021. The practice has grown tremendously since that time! It has expanded into the entire building and has been upgraded to many of the most advanced diagnostic technologies available. Additional improvement is ongoing, with continuous staff training and continuing education for the doctors.
Dr. Lohmueller enjoys the opportunity to care for patients of all ages and abilities, managing vision needs and ocular health problems. Contact lens fitting and management, spectacle prescribing, treatment of glaucoma, ocular infections, inflammation, foreign body removal and monitoring retinal health are some of the services she provides. She also handles post-op visits for cataract, laser and glaucoma surgeons.
Dr. Lohmueller is married to David and they have two children, a mischievous cat and two guinea pigs. They spend lots of time at soccer games, basketball games and other school activities at Oldenburg Academy.
Dr. Ashton Akridge
Dr. Ashton Akridge was overjoyed to return to her hometown to practice when she accepted her position with Lohmueller & Associates. She began seeing patients in Batesville in September 2022.
She graduated from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2017; she provides comprehensive ocular care to individuals of all ages and enjoys medically-focused optometry.
Dr. Akridge is skilled in diagnosing and treating macular degeneration, glaucoma and providing pre-operative and post-operative surgical management. In her prior practices, she discovered a special interest in diagnosing and managing Dry Eye Disease, and is excited to bring that specialty and its benefits to her community.
In her spare time Ashton is an avid reader, runner, and enjoys spending time with her husband Shane and cat Archie.
Dr. Lyle Amrhein
Dr. Lyle Amrhein is a pillar of the local community and has been practicing optometry in this area for over four decades. He graduated from Indiana University with his Bachelor of Science in 1979 and went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry in 1982.
Dr. Amrhein resides locally with his wife Sharon, who is an alumni educator, their daughter Allison and son-in-law Thomas, with whom they enjoy spending quality time with their grandson Charles. In addition to his professional pursuits, Dr. Amrhein enjoys leisure activities such as reading, traveling, and riding motorcycles in his spare time.
